the car weighs 2 tons and is shaped like a brick and if you have a 6 is pushed to its limit.

Why does my 06 Chrysler 300 get such bad milage?
It does not have a Hemi....if it did it would be a 300C not a touring.
Did you get the 3.5L or 2.7L V6? The 3.5L V6 was hit or miss for fuel mileage but you should not be getting that bad of mileage. How are you calculating the Mileage? Hand or using the display? With a V6 you should get around 16 to 18MPG city don't expect anything more the vehicle weighs +4000lbs. However, being winter and winter blend fuel you will see a 1 to 2 MPG decrease. Also, cooler temperatures and idling will kill your mileage. Check a few things that may help with fuel mileage Check: tire pressure, air filter to see how clean it is as well change your fuel filter. Also, you may require a tune-up. If this does not work have your local Chrysler dealership place it on a scanner to see if there are any TSB (Technical Service Bulletins) or any error codes that pop up to correct a possible fuel system error. This should be covered under warranty up to 3 years 36,000miles. Also, try going onto LXforums and do a search on poor fuel economy for 300's a few members my have had the same issue and may let you know how there fuel mileage was corrected. http://www.lxforums.com |

Maybe it's your math. If not, it's way wrong - you should have the dealer look at it. I get about 19 with a 3.5L

Something isn't right, I would consult a dealer to see why it is doing so poorly. I don't care how you drive the car, it shouldn't get that bad of mileage. Even my brother's 300C SRT8 does better than that.
