We want to tow our 05 Pt Cruiser GT behind a motorhome. We found a site that says it can't be towed at speeds over 45 even with a tow dolly. I need to know if this is true or can I tow it with four wheels down in neutral.

not with 4 wheels down, no. with just the back 2 wheels sure, as the pt cruiser is a front wheel drive, the back 2 wheels can spin freely and it wont matter, nor will it add miles to the car.
the only way you "could" tow the car with 4 wheels down is if you had it in neutral AND the engine running to prevent damages. and i wouldnt go over 55 doing that either. as for 2 wheels down, haul ass! (just kidding, i wouldnt go over 75/80mph.) |

This transaxle provides no lube while the engine is off, as the trans pump is not spinning. There is an electric pump you can have installed , somewhat expensive, that allows you to pump fluid through the transaxle for 4-wheel towing, but almost always voids your warranty.
