Working on Center cab console on 2003 Dodge Ram pickup. How 2remove the roof mounted console to retrieve pcs?

Tried to remove map/courtesy light lens and some pieces fell in behind the back portionof the console. I was wondering how to safely remove the console that houses the compass/temperature and light package to retieve the parts. Also, my back-up white light indicator has gone out on 2003 Dodge ram pickup and was wondering if I could replace it myself before heading to the dealer? Any help or suggestions would be great
