I have a 1989 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer. the clock in it works, but it won't light up. When the sun is shinning just right, you can see the time and I can push the little buttons to change it, but it still won't light up.

Sounds like the bulb behind it may be blown. Is there any way you can take it out of the dash and check the bulb to see if it is replaceable? I had a similar problem with the clock in a car I used to have and there was a little "grain of wheat" bulb that was serving as the backlight for the clock and it had burned out. I was able to find a new bulb at a local Autozone.

Try turning the dial for your interior lights to a brighter setting, it's the little knob by the light switch.

the back light is out. take off the trim piece around it and unscrew the module. should be a yellow boot with the burnt bulb in it. i think its the same bulb as the side markers and license plate light, but I'm not positive. or u have bad wiring like i did.. but that's a bigger problem
