Installing new speakers and amp in old Jeep Cherokee head unit?
I just purchased 4 new speakers and a new amp to install in my Jeep Cherokee. Do I need to purchase a new head unit in order to get this system working or can I install everything using my old head unit? Any help or links would be great. Thanks!
I saw something online about how you need to "get a line level converter to bring the preamped stereo outputs back down to line levels to feed the amp". Is there a certain line level converter I would need? |

most line level converters are teh same. which is you cut the speaker wires, wire the converter into it, and then plug rca jacks onto the end of it. not really brain surgery.
but to tell you the truth buy a new head unit. you will get a better cleaner crisper sound than using the converter. and even if you can only afford an entry level head unit that will still be better than the stock one Content provided by Yahoo Answers. |
