Check the connections of the cables and make sure they are solid. Make sure the cables themselves are in good condition. They could be full of corrosion. Lastly, make sure the connection to the starter relay is good. It sounds like the relay is just clicking due to lack of adequate current.

the starter relay could be bad on it or the positive or negative cables either one could also be bad on it ,even the starter you bought could also be defective on it or the key switch isn't making a good connection, most likely its a relay or bad connection causing it not to start, even a bad neutral safety switch will cause one to click like that, good luck with it.

In order of likelihood,

1. Bad starter relay contacts (replace starter relay)
2. Defective starter
3. Corrosion at the battery terminals
4. Corroded cables from battery to starter
5. Motor is seized (can you turn the crankshaft at all?)
