how do I replace a dodge dakota clutch?
I have a 4 wheel drive 1997 Dodge Dakota and need to replace the clutch, does anyone know how to do this?

if you have to ask this question means you need to take it to a shop to have it done.
But if you want to do it yourself then I say go for it. Just buy a HAYNES repair manual before you start the job. |

you have to pull the transmission and transfer case from it to do this then you have to get the flywheel checked and trued back up or replace it,usually they gets damaged when clutch goes out or get heat spots on them,it takes more than one person to do this and a real good transmission jack,and your better off removing the transfer case from the transmission and then removing the transmission its to hard to handle it when it comes down as one unit,their just too big and awkward to handle as one unit,by separating the two it makes the job a lot easier to do ,im doing one now so believe me or not this is the best way to do this,if the flywheel has too many heat spots on it replace it,there's only so much they can turn off it ,if you don't the new clutch wont last no where near as long as it should,a good repair manual comes in handy when doing this job for torque specs and tightening sequences,good luck.
