I am hearing a rattling under the hood of my 92 dodge dakota when i hit the gas. What is it?

I have a 1992 Dodge Dakota V6 Rear 2 wheel drive with 210 thousand + miles. It seems to be that when I hit my gas pedal something is rattling on the driver side. I went under made sure my caps were tight, my wiper fluid tank was tight. So I know its not that. I just cant figure it out.

might be a loose exaust pipe or you might have internal engine problems valves rattling under acceleration for exanple.

common fault or minor problem is just a heat plate. its based roughly between the back wheels along your exhaust and prevents the heat from getting to the floor and/or sometimes the gas tank. can be a proper curse to tighten on most rear wheel drive cars. use a glove to hold it and get someone to rev it for ye. i bet thats it. hope to have helped.
