What's the best engine for a 1998 Dodge Dakota engine swap?

I currently have the 3.9L V6 in my 1998 dodge Dakota but I wanna Give it some more power. Now don't be hatin on me, it may sound pointless but I wanna do it. What is the best engine/transmission combo to throw in my truck?

there are all sorts of combos the biggest factory engine in the dakota was the 5.2. but keep in mind you will need to replace the computer and probably the wiring harness

Actually you can fit the 360 into a dakota. What I would get is a mopar crate engine, along with the necessary ecm , performance cam, and wiring.

for the most amount of power and performance from it go with a 5.9 in it, they came out with 5.2,s engines in them and its real easy to find a wiring harness and computer to swap it over with,its more work though than it sounds like and those of us who have done it can tell you its not as easy as it sounds,go withe over drive transmission in it also,good luck.
