Dodge nitro...your thoughts?

I really like the dodge nitro n was thinking bout getting 1?? but b4 i do i was wondering what ya'll thought bout them. from what i read they got good/great reviews

well i think they look corny but what does that matter? also heard they are horribly slow but i've never driven one and am unaware of the engine choices.

It is a Jeep Liberty with Dodge styling. The Dodge is more on-road focus, the Jeep off-road (though the Liberty is lame off-road without modifications - we own one).

It gets really bad gas mileage for it's interior size. The Liberty has had a couple of MAJOR recall issues that covered several years of production.

I would suggest a Ford Escape; 4 cylinder - it gets much better fuel economy and has more interior space, if you are primarily staying on-road. A Subaru Forrester is another good choice.

If you are looking for something with serious off-road capability, the Toyota FJ Cruiser - it also gets poor gas mileage - no worse than the Nitro/Liberty though.
