This question is for anyone who owns a Dodge Nitro.When i accelerate I hear a whinning sound .?

There almost sounds as if there is a small jet engine under the hood .It seems to get louder as you accelerarte untill it shifts gear and then it gets a little softer and it also seems louder when the air conditioner is on. Has this happened to other people and do you think it would be the engine or A/C. I really dont remember this sound when i bought it but maybe its always been there. Any info would be appreciated.Its a 2008 with 50,000 miles if that helps. Thanks alot

my aunt owns one and its the fan on hers that makes the noise when you take off with the air conditioner on,she has complained about it several times,the noise was always there on hers ,but it took her almost a year to notice it,good luck.
