I'm looking at a getting a Dodge Charger and my neighbor has offered in the past that I could use his friends and family discount. I was wondering if it was worth it or if I could get a better price by negotiating.

A regular employee of a dealer usually get cost. That actually depends on the dealer because every dealer have their own company policy... As a customer _(non-employee) they might work a great price for you! Depending on the car and if it has discount rebates from fabric. Maybe the can work cost plus $500.00 then again if you can get a car that has company rebates you might be lucky enough to get the car under cost!!! That usually happens when they are overstock in some cars. Trust me sells have been very slow so you might be lucky to get that good deal! Only sales personel and manager know the cost of the cars so in other to know what deal you made then your neighbor could maybe show you but that's if he is authorize to do that. If he is not then just look at all the sales on newspaper and online and see what's the best offer you can get!
Good luck! |

I just bought an 08 Chrysler Pacifica on what is called an affiliate program. The affiliate pricing, which is what it sounds like your neighbor can get for you, is Invoice minus 1% plus incentives. Unless you're one heck of a negotiator, I doubt you can get much better than this. In the case of my Pacifica, I paid invoice less about $300 and got the 0% financing or 72 months, (instead of the optional $2000 rebate) which saved me about $7400. The Pacifica was NOT on their sale list, so there were no further incentives, however, had I got the 300C instead, I could have gotten both the rebate and the 0%.
Make sure you know of the factory incentives prior to going in. I think it is either Kelly Blue Book (http://www.kbb.com) or Edmunds (http://www.edmunds.com) that shows you the "average selling price" which is the average negoiated price for the vehicle. |

by brother is in the car business.... regardless of what anyone posts, you're not gonna get for much less than this:
Invoice or (if lucky) $1500 below invoice (depending on the dealer, their stock, etc. It doesn't matter if you are average Joe or Chrysler employee. Best source for invoice price is http://www.carsdirect.com Content provided by Yahoo Answers. |
