I don't know what the dealer did or did not tell you but, if your vehicle is a 2008 - There should be a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty on your vehicle, your transmission would fall under the powertrain!

by locked up do you mean it won't shift out of park? or it went into limp mode?

and yea you should be covered under warranty.

same thing happened to me. i started the car and it would not go into gear....you have to get under the hood. the shift linkage can be pulled straight up to be disconnected. then you can shift the transmission manually. once this is done you can have your car towed at the dealers expense because it is an 08 you should have free roadside assistance just as i did. then they take it to the dealer and fix it for free. if you ask what was wrong they say the shifter was broke (duh) but what was broke within the shift linkage? was it electrical? mechanical? they won't say.

you don't have to pay for a repair on that vehicle, its still under warranty so take it in and let them repair it,if they told you that it would cost you their wrong, its a free repair,if it locked up you wont be repairing it your self, good luck.

its right. you don't need to pay repair if the car is still on its warranty period. that's it, i think you can complaint from them that the dodge repair service you must avail it.
