i need new breaks on my car?
i have a 2009 dodge Journey and i went to get new breaks for it and they told me it would be $520 for just the pads to be changed it that reasonable. it only has 28000 miles on it.
i did brakes and it said wrong spelling. and yes i need new brakes when i stop it vibrates and makes a lot of noise when i stop. also lots of brake dust on the rims and i mean a lot they are black every week when i wash my car. I had my neighbor look at it and he said that it was down to the metal. |

It's BRAKES, not breaks.
$520 sounds high for just pads. The price is more reasonable if it's pads and rotors though, including labor... |

no that is not reasonable for just pads and at 28000 miles i have a hard time believing that you need your pads changed anyway

It really depends on how often you use your brakes, if you live on a hill, etc. The price is reasonable. You should ask them what they brake pad thickness is (should be in millimeters) and then compare to what is acceptable for your car (might be found in the owner manual, or can easily be found by asking the dealership you bought it from or by calling dodge directly).

lmao.. im a mechanic so i do mine myself... brakes at an auto store cost max 70-80 which means youre looking at 4-something for labor... even at 100 an hour it doesnt take 4 hours... they are changing the brakes but is anything else included?? such as checking fluids etc...?

Are you shure that you need new brakes at only 28000 miles? That's pretty low mileage for some brakes to be wearing out.You should shop around for the best price. And always ask for your old parts back. That is a high price for some brakes. With only 28000 miles warranty might cover your brakes. Good luck.
