What SUV/Crossover should we get?
We are planning to trade in our 2003 Ford Explorer for a brand new SUV or Crossover. We've narrowed it down to a few options, but we need your help choosing.

Choices:

1. Dodge Journey
2. Dodge Durango
3. Kia Borrego
4. Kia Serrento
5. Chevrolet Traverse
6. GMC Acadia

Which do you think is the best? And please answer as quickly as you can... we plan to buy the vehicle tomorrow.

I know it's not on your list, but I'd say Honda CR-V.

If you have that many choices you don't seem ready to make a big purchase like this. I'd suggest doing more research and test driving and hold off on buying a vehicle tomorrow.

Nicole, just so you know just because a car is sold from an American company does not mean it gives Americans jobs.

GMC has some of its assembly plants in Mexico. GMC, an American company sent American jobs to another country. Honda has some of its assembly plants in the USA.

My mother's CR-V was made in Ohio. All CR-V's sold in North America are made in Ohio. The largest auto assembly plant in the USA is owned by Nissan.

I read on yahoo answers one time, so it may or may not be true, that a particular Hyundai car, I believe it is the Sonata, was designed by American engineers and made in California.

So just remember that just because a company is owned by a few Americans, it does not mean that many Americans benefit from the company.

I hear great things about the subaru outback or forester but that was a few years back. I would do google search for all the cars on your list. There are sites out there with professional reviews, user reviews and averages on all the reviews. good luck

If you had to choose between those 6, I would buy either the Sorrento, Traverse, or the Acadia. Though I think the best crossover would be the GMC Terrain.

Any American car, please. Think about it, If you buy an American car, you are helping to keep jobs in America and not overseas. You are keeping Americans employed. Your tax dollars are helping Americas economy. I hope you buy American, you will feel good about it!

Not only that but, American cars are much better quality too, despite all of the consumer report crap that is bias toward American cars. I have owned American cars all my life and they give me no problems. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it is very nice and has given me no problems. You are safe buying any American car, and from my personal experiences, whenever I see an accident happen, the Japanese car is smashed up and the American car doesn't have a scratch. The quality is much better, and you are keeping your hard earned money in Americas economy.

Thanks and I hope you buy American! You are truly helping jobs stay in this country by doing that.

By the way I saw an old dodge hit a Honda Pilot and the Honda Pilot got totaled in front and the small Dodge didn't have a scratch

Well Richard, All of the foreign companies who claim to build cars here just put them together like tinker toys and all the parts are from overseas :-)

The Traverse is the better out of the six. HOWEVER, it is not the best choice. You NEED the Honda Pilot, because it has better gas mileage, and better reliability.
