Is the Dodge Caliber a reliable car?
I'm hoping to buy my first car soon, and I really like the Dodge Caliber. However, I've heard that Chrysler/Dodge/Jeeps are not very reliable, but I'm sure the newer models are reliable.

"However, I've heard that Chrysler/Dodge/Jeeps are not very reliable, but I'm sure the newer models are reliable. " The jerks you here this from don't have a clue what is or is not a good car, plus they envy Dodge owners because they can't afford one. If you realy want to know about the car log on here http://www.caliberforumz.com and ask the people who own and love them.

Is the Dodge Caliber a reliable car?
well a dodge caliber and chrysler pt cruiser is the new dodge neon and the neon's aren't reliable. they might have worked out the problems over the years but i wouldn't pay as much as it is new. i would recommend buying a honda or toyota. they are both very reliable and honda has the best crash test rating or they did a few months ago i don't know about now

lol ... Well, there are bad Honda's and Toyota's, just like any other vehicle made today!
I know people that have had Neons and love them, still running with well over 100,000 miles. And I know a person that has a Toyota that has spent most of its life in the garage. It all comes down to taking care of your car. You take care of it, it will take care of you. Service and oil changes every 3,000 miles (doesn't matter what the owners manual tells you). Where I work, we have a 1994 Suburban (Emergency Vehicle) that is run hard 99% of the time, it has almost 300,000 miles on it and has never had any engine work done to it excepts for an occasional water pump. Went thru 5 transmissions but the engine is still running strong. We change the oil every 3,000 miles. Now, as for your question about the Dodge Caliber, I do not have one but, my son bought a 2008 Caliber last year and he loves it, we have swapped cars a couple of times, so I have used it several times and I thought it was a great car. Granted I am a Dodge man and have never had a problem with any of the Dodge's I have owned over the years. He gets around 27 mpg around town with it and it has some pretty good pick up when you need it. |

Me and my husband bought one last year and we are both happy with it. There hasn't seemed to be any problems with it so far. We did have a squeaky seat belt but the dealership fixed it while doing an oil change. For the price it is a good car. Our has gotten up to 40mpg cruising on the interstate. Which is nice.
