I like their looks but know very little about either of them.

I like the magnum. I almost had one a year ago but decided not to get one. My friend has one an it is really nice. He has the HEMI and it is extremely peppy. Also, it has a lot of room in the back seats. It actually has more leg room than the Chrysler 300. If you have kids or plan on transporting people, they will really appreciate the leg room in the back seats. The magnum is much safer than the caliber. Also, the magnum handles very well since it has such a low center of gravity. My choice would be the magnum.

Unfortuantely, the Dodge Magnum is no longer in production. DC dropped the Magnum back in December 07 and the last 08 model was produced in June 08. So, you will more than likely have to look for a used one unless you can still find an 08 on the lot.

I did own a 05 Magnum R/T AWD, it was a very nice car with the 5.7L Multi-Displacement Hemi which shuts down to 4 cylinder mode. It has great room for the family and strollers. Lots of leg room for everyone, very smooth riding car, lots of power. The fuel economy was not terrible for the size of vehicle I usually avg. 16MPG city and 24 MPG highway.

I upgraded to a 06 Magnum SRT8 model for the 6.1L hemi for more power but that came with less fuel economy 14MPG city and 22MPG highway.

The Dodge Magnum comes in 4 trim levels, SE (2.7L V6), SXT (3.5 HO V6), R/T (5.7L MDS V8) and the SRT8 (6.1L Hemi). The SXT and R/T version are the only trim level that offered the AWD version. Talking with a few owners the SXT and R/T got very similar fuel economy, the SE version was not great on power.

The Dodge Caliber is much smaller as you probably know by now. However, you gain in fuel economy over the Magnum. Fuel economy numbers for the Caliber I have heard are approx. 21city and 27 Highway. Also, you don't have the power like the Hemi Magnum unless you look at a Caliber SRT4 version and that car looks great and is fast. Not sure about the fuel economy on them.

If you are intrested in the Magnum I would look at the SXT or R/T model unless you are power hungry then look at the SRT8 version. I would stay clear of the SE version.

Caliber, I don't know much about them only test drove the R/T version and was impressed with the drive, but not quiet as much room as my Magnum for my kids strollers. If I was looking at a Caliber I would look at the SRT4 for the power and looks.

Magnum is a sharp vehicle. Nice handleing and good on power. It has good gas milage for its size. You can throw a set of rims on it, and it will be really nice, with nothing else added.

The caliber took the place of the Neon. The SRT4 version is really sharp and cranks out 300 hp. It was marketed for the young family generation. The Caliber got sore ratings for handleing, and not to cozey for passengers, but then again, it was perfect for the regular size family.

I would recommend the SRT4 model for Caliber, and atleast the R/T model for the Magnum
